Elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989, Carl Yastrzemski spent 23 years with the Boston Red Sox, winning the Triple Crown, American League MVP and three AL batting championships. Yaz has his No. 8 retired by the franchise and was an 18-time All-Star. Inside beneath the collar is the McAuliffe manufacturer’s tag with an attached tag reading the size “44”. On the front middle tail is a year tag reading “1978” and a tag with washing instructions. Across the chest reads “RED SOX” and on back is the player number “8”. All number and lettering is done in red on navy blue tackle twill. Yastrzemski signed the front of the jersey in blue marker with the added inscription “1978” and in our opinion rates an 8. Also included are a pair of 1977 matching pants that were not worn by Yaz and feature the number “36” embroidered on the inside waistband. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows light use. Accompanied by an LOA from Yaz’s agent and an ALOA from JSA.
