“Pistol” Pete Maravich was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987. The 1977 scoring champion was a five-time NBA All-Star and was voted to the NBA’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Team. Presented here is Maravich’s 1978 All-Star Game uniform sourced directly from the Maravich family. On the front left tail is the Russell Athletic manufacturer’s tag size “40” with washing instructions. Attached inside the collar are two flag tags, one reading “MARAVICH” and the other with jersey materials and washing instructions. Across the front reads “EAST STARS” and on the back is the player name “MARAVICH”. These are done in blue tackle twill. The player number “7” appears on the front and back in red on blue tackle twill. Vertically down the right chest are five red on white tackle twill stars. Minor staining is present throughout the jersey. Inside the rear waistband of the shorts is the Russell Athletic manufacturer’s flag tag size “M”, an additional flag tag reading the size “34” and a flag tag reading “MARAVICH”. On the left thigh is the “1978 ALL-STAR GAME THE OMNI - ATLANTA - FEBRUARY 5” patch. Jackie Maravich told us that Pete wore this on the bench as he was injured. Accompanied by a Maravich Family LOA.
