Willie Stargell, nicknamed "Pops" in the later years of his career, played his entire Major League career (1962-1982) with the Pittsburgh Pirates as an outfielder and first baseman. On the inside back collar of the gold jersey is the "Wilson" manufacturers tag with the jersey size "48" and wash instructions on it. On the left front tail is an additional tag with "8 80" embroidered on it. Across the front of the jersey is "Pirates" in black on white tackle twill. Below that on the left and on the back is the player number "8" in black on white tackle twill. Across the back is "STARGELL" in black tackle twill on a gold name plate. There is an autograph on the front of the jersey in black marker which rates a 9. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. The autographed is accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
