Carl Yastrzemski was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989 on the first ballot. “Yaz” was an 18-time All-Star, won the American League MVP in 1967 via the Triple Crown and was a three-time AL batting champion. His No. 8 is retired by the Boston Red Sox franchise. The Wilson manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and jersey size “42” is sewn into the back of the collar. On the front left tail is a year swatch with “83” embroidered on it in navy blue chain-stitching. Across the chest reads “BOSTON” and the player number “8” appears on the back. Lettering and numbering both done in red on navy blue tackle twill. There is some light staining throughout. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent wear.
