Carl Michael "Yaz" Yastrzemski had a 23-year career with the Boston Red Sox. Primarily a left fielder, he played some first base and served as a designated hitter as he aged. The last American league Triple Crown winner (1967) and an 18 time all-star, "Yaz" is the Red Sox leader in career RBIs, runs, hits, singles, doubles, total bases, and games played. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Wilson" label which includes the size, "42". Below this is the year tag "83" in black chain stitch. Across the front of the jersey is the name "Boston" and on the back is the player number "8." Both the name and number are made of blue tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
