This basketball uniform was worn by Michael Jordan as a member of the "Red" team in "Larry's Game," a charity basketball game held at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, Indiana, on June 26, 1988. Resolution Photomatching has conclusively photo-matched this jersey to the one worn by Jordan in that game. Larry's Game was a charity game organized to raise college scholarship money for underprivileged Indiana students. Larry Bird, because of his hometown roots, was the host of the event and he recruited an all-star lineup of NBA talent to take part in the game. Bird's "White" team defeated Jordan's "Red" team 142-120 in the inaugural "Larry's Game," which was repeated annually over the next three summers. This is a unique Michael Jordan game-used uniform dating from his first MVP season in the NBA. Jordan led the league in a number of major categories that year, including field goals (1,069), steals (259), and total points (2,868). Those numbers helped lead the Bulls to 50 wins and earned Jordan his first of an eventual five MVP Awards at season's end. On the front left tail is the Champion manufacturer’s tag size “L” with jersey materials and washing instructions. Attached is a flag tag reading “2” EXTRA LENGTH”. Across the chest reads “LARRY’S game”. The player number “23” appears on both the front and back and across the back reads the player name “JORDAN”. All numbering and lettering is screened in white. On the upper left chest is the “Champion” logo. Inside the rear waistband of the shorts is the Champion manufacturer’s tag size “L (36-38)” with materials and washing instructions. Attached is a flag tag that is heavily faded. On the front left leg is a “INDIANA YOUTHLINKS” patch. This example is noteworthy in that it not only can be conclusively photomatched but was used only once by Jordan for a well-documented "All-Star" charity game. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a Resolution Photomatching LOA.
