One of the most successful quarterbacks to ever throw the football, Joe Montana had a flair for the dramatic as he orchestrated some of the most memorable comebacks in NFL history. A four-time Super Bowl champion, Montana earned Super Bowl MVP honors three times, took home the regular season MVP twice (including in 1990) and was named to the NFL’s 75th Anniversary All-Time Team. Montana’s No. 16 is retired by the San Francisco 49ers franchise and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000. On the front left tail of this red mesh jersey is a “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Attached is a flag tag with “46”. The player number “16” appears on the front, on the back and on both sleeves. Across the back reads the player name, “MONTANA” on a red mesh nameplate. All numbering and lettering are done in white tackle twill. Below the player number on the left sleeve is a Wilson logo embroidered. Montana has signed the back number in black marker which is faded and in our opinion rates a 2. Evidence of prior framing. This jersey is properly tagged, presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent wear. Accompanied by a full JSA LOA, as well as a letter from an Oilers Video Coordinator who sourced this jersey from Bronco Hinek who was the 49ers then Equipment Manager.
