Lawrence Taylor, an All-America at North Carolina, was the first-round draft pick of the New York Giants and the second player selected overall in the 1981 NFL Draft. The 6-3, 237-pound linebacker set the tone for his pro career with an outstanding rookie season during which he recorded a career-high 133 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 8 passes defensed, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and an interception. On the front left tail of this jersey is the "COSBY" manufacturers tag with a "L" flag tag attached. Above this is the "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for New York Giants" tag. To the left of these tags is the "90" embroidered year tag. On the front, back and on each shoulder is the player number "56" screen printed in blue on red. Across the back is "TAYLOR" screen printed in blue on a white nameplate. The sleeves are cuffed. The jersey shows good game-use with many team repairs and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
