HOFer John Elway was on his way to being a Major Leaguer before deciding to become one of the greatest QB’s in NFL history. George Brett once remarked “They said: ‘talk this guy into playing baseball. We didn’t do a very good job, thank God, because he probably would have taken my job. When it comes to America’s other game, Elway left football with some serious accolades - 1987’s “The Drive” a last ditch comeback drive to ultimately win the AFC Championship and the NFL MVP / AFC OFfensive MVP, 1993 AFC Offensive MVP, 1997 SB Champ, One of only two players to rush for a TD in four SB’s, 9x Pro-Bowler and 1997 SB MVP. On the front left tail of this white mesh jersey, is the Nike manufacturer’s label with “NFL PRO LINE AUTHENTIC” and two flag tags attached - “46” and “LONG”. Inside the back of the collar is a strip tag with “96-46”. NFL logo patch is sewn onto the front of the collar. Nike “Swoosh” logo appears on both shoulders. Player number “7” is done on the front, back and both sleeves. Player name “ELWAY” is done across the back on a white nameplate. All lettering and numbering is done in blue on orange tackle twill. The jersey is autographed to the right of the player's name on the back, in black marker “John Elway 7”, in our opinion rating a strong 8. There is some staining, scuffing and a repair on the left sleeve. This jersey was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent wear. Accompanied by a full JSA LOA, as well as a photo of Elway signing.
