In 1998, the New York Yankees cruised through the regular season with a franchise record standing of 114-48, 22 games ahead of the second-place Boston Red Sox, winners of the AL wild-card. The Yankees were matched up against the Texas Rangers in the Division Series and swept the best-of-five series before moving on to face the Cleveland Indians in the ALCS. The Indians put up a fight but were no match for the Yankees as they fell to the Bronx Bombers in six games. The 1998 World Series pitted the Yankees against the San Diego Padres, champions of the National League. The Bombers lived up to their name by shelling the Padres with 26 runs in a four-game sweep of the World Series. New York captured their 24th World Championship, their second in three years. This size 10, 10k gold staff member’s "A" ring weighs 32 grams with a total diamond weight of .50 carats. The top panel of the ring reads “1998 WORLD CHAMPIONS” and around the interior crown of the ring are a 24 small diamonds. The face of the ring also features the Yankees interlocking “NY” logo encrusted in 24 small diamonds sitting atop a blue synthetic stone. The left panel features the staff member’s name “FERRAR” above a casted image of the World Series Trophy, Yankee Stadium and “TRADITION”.
