Sammy Sosa blasted his 15th home run of the 2002 season and 465th of his career on May 9th, 2002 against the Milwaukee Brewers. On the front left tail is the Majestic manufacturers tag with an attached flag tag reading the size “48”. Handwritten on this tag is “5 9 02 SS”. On the left sleeve is a Cubs team logo patch with a “Majestic” logo embroidered beneath. On the right sleeve is the Captain’s “C” patch in blue on red tackle twill. On the left chest is the large Cubs team logo patch embroidered in red, white and blue. Across the back is the player name “SOSA” and beneath is the player number “21”. These are done in blue on red tackle twill. On the back collar is the official MLB logo patch. Sosa signed the back of the jersey in silver marker with the added inscription “HR 465 = 5=9 = 2002” GAME USED 2002” and in our opinion rates a strong 8. We have been unable to conclusively photo-match it to this game. Above the signature is a Sosa hologram serial number “ASI1217”. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by an ALOA from JSA.
