Future Hall of Famer Derek Jeter’s 2006 season was one of the best of his career. In 2006, “Captain Clutch” finished the season second in the American League in both batting average (.343) and runs scored (118). He ranked third in hits (214), and fourth in OBP (.417), earned his seventh All-Star selection and recorded his 2,000th career hit. In the postseason, Jeter batted .500 with one home run in the ALDS, including a perfect 5-for-5 performance in Game 1, making him the sixth player to record five hits in one postseason game. In a close vote, Jeter came in second behind Minnesota's Justin Morneau for the AL MVP. Though he lost the MVP Award, he won the Hank Aaron Award, given for superior offensive performance. He also won his third consecutive Gold Glove Award. Manuf: H&B, Model: P72, Length: 34 in. Weight: 30.3 oz., Wood: Ash, Labeling Period: 2006, Condition: Uncracked. Jeter has signed the barrel of the bat in silver marker and the signature, in our opinion, rates an 8. Ball and hit marks are present on the front, left, right and back barrel. Blue and white ball transfer marks are present on the right, left, back and front barrel. Cleat marks are present on the right barrel. There is a moderate coat of pine tar on the handle. A donut ring impression is present on the barrel. The bat exhibits evidence of heavy use. Accompanied by a LOA from PSA/DNA grading the bat a 9. Further accompanied by a LOA from JSA for the signature as well as a Steiner LOA hand-signed by Derek Jeter himself.
