Three weeks after being named the youngest team captain in the history of the National Hockey League, Connor McDavid suited up in this special alternate jersey style for "Hockey Fights Cancer Night" on October 26, 2016 in Edmonton. McDavid would assist twice in the 4-1 victory over the visiting Washington Capitals, a statistic he'd ultimately lead the league with seventy. Add thirty goals to that tally and you have an even one hundred points, good enough for the first of two consecutive Art Ross Trophies as the NHL's leading scorer. McDavid would likewise claim the Hart Memorial Trophy as the MVP of the NHL, and the Ted Lindsay Award, a particularly high honor as it is the NHL Players Association itself that votes for the league's most outstanding player. But the prizes for McDavid's brilliance did not end at the trophy case, as he'd sign the richest contract in hockey history at the close of this season, an eight-year, $100 million extension with the Oilers. Inside beneath the collar is a Canadian flag tag reading the size “56” and adjacent above is an “Elite Sportswear'' flag tag. Inside the rear left tail is a MeiGray tag reading “NHL Game-Worn Jersey 2016-2017 Season N02755” and inside the rear right tail is a tag reading “EDMONTON OILERS 2016/2017 SEASON Oct. 26, 2016 vs. WASHINGTON CAPITALS”. On the upper right chest is a “2016 2017 INAUGURAL SEASON” patch and on the upper left chest is the Captain’s “C” logo in blue on white tackle twill. Across the front is the large Oilers team logo crest in blue, white and orange. The player number “97” appears on both sleeves in orange on white tackle twill. The player number also appears on the back and across the back on an orange nameplate is the player name “McDAVID”. These are done in blue on white tackle twill. McDavid signed the back of the jersey inside the player number “9” in silver and in our opinion the signature rates an 8. The fight strap is intact. On the v-neck is an official “NHL” logo and on the back beneath the collar is a “Reebok” logo. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by an Oilers LOA, a Photo-Match.com LOA confirming the match and an ALOA form JSA.
