A Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig signed baseball can be the centerpiece of any collection. Add popular boxer Maxie Rosenbloom and you have a truly unique period piece of sports history. While Ruth and Gehrig's exploits on the diamond are well documented and ingrained into the American consciousness, Maxie Rosenbloom was also "larger then life," both inside and out of the squared circle. He won the Light Heavyweight belt in 1930 and was dubbed "Slapsie Maxie" by sportswriter Damon Runyon. Rosenbloom went on to Hollywood after retiring from boxing and starred in over 100 films. These three legends represent a long passed era in American sports that is unlikely to ever return. This red and blue stitched Offical League baseball has been signed in black fountain pen on the sweet spot by the inimitable Babe Ruth. Teammate Lou Gehrig has signed in black fountain pen on the side panel, and in blue ink on the bottom panel by 1932 Light Heavyweight boxing champion "Slapsie" Maxie Rosenbloom. Ball shows toning and abundant spotting, especially on the bottom panel. Manufacturer's stamps overall clear with some fading. The Ruth signature is large and grades a 7, the Gehrig is somewhat lighter and grades a 6. The Rosenbloom signature shows light rubbing on the top of the "bl" in "Rosenbloom" and grades a 7. Accompanied by a LOA from James Spence Authentication.
