This helmet was originally acquired along with previously auctioned ND jersey during a visit to ND in the mid 60s, from a student manager. Originally issued to John Huarte, Heisman trophy winner of 1964. This particular Riddell RK model was issued to John Huarte early in his career at ND. As is customary, the ND helmet was reissued after Huarte to a player whose name is also written inside the helmet. Original jawpads present, however the original two-bar mask has been replaced with a period mask. The helmet was later used by a different player and holes remain for a different period mask. Rare and seldom offered ND helmet from a Heisman Trophy winner. First time offered to the public. This helmet is properly marked, presented to us as game-used and shows excellent use.
