The 1933 New York Yankees roster featured nine future Hall of Famers, ten including their manager Joe McCarthy. The defending World Champs were winners of 91 games in the regular season, tied for second-best in the league. The team trailed the Washington Senators, winners of 99 games in the AL, and were denied the chance to defend their title in the World Series. This “REACH” manufactured OAL Harridge baseball dates to 1932-33. This beautiful baseball features the signatures of 23 members of the 1933 New York Yankees. Notable signatures include all nine Hall of Fame players from the ‘33 team: Babe Ruth (ss), Lou Gehrig, Earle Combs, Bill Dickey, Herb Pennock, Vern “Lefty” Gomez, Tony Lazzeri, Chas “Red” Ruffing and Joe Sewell (player-coach). Additional signatures include Sam Byrd, Frank Crosetti, Russ Van Atta, Charlie Devens, Lyn Lary, Wilcy Moore, Walter “Jumbo” Brown, Ben Chapman, Art Jorgens, Eddie “Doc” Farrell, Dixie Walker, Johnny Allen and Danny MacFayden. All of the signatures are done in black fountain ink and in our opinion rate a strong 9 overall. “1933” is written near the stamp in blue ink, penned in an unknown hand. The ball has a shiny, reflective tone, it is in beautiful NM condition. PSA/DNA was unable to authenticate the signatures. Accompanied by a Full LOA from JSA.
