A tremendously talented basketball player Slater Martin spent 11 years in the NBA with both the Minneapolis Lakers and St Louis Hawks. Between the two teams he played along side some of the greatest names in basketball history and all told they won five NBA Championships. In 11 NBA seasons, Martin scored 7,337 points and had 3,160 assists and was enshrined in basketball's Hall of Fame in 1982. This jersey dates to the late 1950s when he was playing with the Hawks. On the inside rear tail is the "Rawlings" label with the size "42." Adjacent to this is the wash tag. Across the front of the jersey is the team name "Hawks" and below is the player number "22" which also appears on the back. All of the letters and numbers are done in red on blue tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
