Rod Carew played 19 remarkable seasons in the MLB and crossed the plate 1,424 times. Not only is Carew a HOFer, but a fan favorite. In his 19 seasons, he was an All-Star 18 times. This jersey comes from Spring Training of his 1967 Rookie of the Year season. On the front left tail of this jersey is the "SPALDING" manufacturer's tag. Attached is a tag reading "40" indicating jersey size. Below that is "40 67" stitched in blue embroidery indicating jersey size, and year. Below that is a tag with wash instructions. Across the front of the jersey is "Twins." On the back of the jersey is the player number "12." All lettering and numbering is done in blue on red tackle twill. Inside the back of the neck is a name tag reading "Carew" which has been restored. On the left sleeve is the "Minnesota Twins" team logo patch. The jersey is autographed on the front left tail above all the tagging in black marker rating an 8. There is one button missing at the very top of the jersey. The jersey appears to have been worn also in 1969 with evidence of a removed "100 Year" patch. The lot features photos of Carew wearing the number "21" in spring training. The jersey shows game-use, and except for the above mentioned change it appears to have no alterations of any kind. The autograph comes with a letter from PSA/DNA. The jersey comes with an additional LOA.
