1955 was a special year for the Brooklyn Dodgers--not only did they win their first World Series title, but they beat their hated rival, the New York Yankees to do it. Jostens created this prototype intending it to be a salesman's sample for a limited edition production to honor this legendary series. However, this line was never produced, making this buckle one-of-a-kind. Jostens gave this belt buckle to Jack Lang around 15 years ago. This belt buckle measures 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" and has substantial weight. It depicts a detailed relief of Ebbets Field, with a banner reading "1955 BROOKLYN 4-3" across the top. The bottom reads "WORLD CHAMPIONS." The border of this buckle consists of the names of the players on this unforgettable team. The back of this fully functional belt buckle is printed with "LIMITED EDITION /1955" and "JOSTENS" and comes in the original velvet box issued by Jostens.
