Moving from the Polo Grounds after their first two Major League seasons (1962-1963), the 1964 Mets christened a brand new venue in Queens, Shea Stadium, where they continue to play to this day. Built to reduce offensive production, Shea Stadium would force the Mets to emphasize defense and pitching, culminating in their 1969 World Series Championship. This size nine ring was made in 1964 to commemorate the opening of Shea Stadium and was given to VIPs and members of the Mets organization. On the top is a raised Mets logo with three chips. On the left shank is a raised "Mr. Met" mascot and o the right shank a raised depiction of Shea Stadium. Inside the ring is stamped "14K." The ring shows light wear and is a fantastic piece of Mets history.
