Managed by "The Miracle Worker" Gil Hodges, the Amazing 1969 New York Mets captured the heart of a city by beating the Orioles in the World Series, much as the Brooklyn Dodgers had 14 years earlier. We offer a salesman's sample ring, size 10 ½, that is identical to the one presented to Gil Hodges as the skipper of the 1969 team. On the top center is a round diamond mounted on a raised baseball diamond, which is affixed to a blue stone background. Surrounding this, in raised letters, it reads "New York Mets, World Champions 1969." On the left top shank are three small raised banners with the engravings "14, Hodges, Mgr," respectively. Beneath this is a raised Mets logo over two crossed bats, with a baseball cap underneath. On the top right shank are three small raised banners with the engravings "Eastern Division, National League, World Series," respectively. Beneath this is a raised stadium above a raised engraved banner which reads "Mets vs Orioles." The ring shows some overall wear. A rare treasure from one of the most popular teams of all time.
