Despite winning 109 games in 1969 (one more than in their next, championship year), the Baltimore Orioles lost the World Series to the "Amazing" Mets, 4-1. Winning the ALCS in a sweep over the Twins, members of the Orioles organization were presented with a watch, specially made by Jaeger Le Coultre, one of the finest watchmakers in the world. This beautiful example, with a gold-tone Speidel band, features a Baltimore Orioles logo on the face, above the hands. Below the hands is written American League Champions 1969." Around the dial, which is matted above the face is written "First" and ALCS", with the Major League logo at the nine o'clock position. Dual crowns on the right side allow for the face to be rotated and the alarm function engaged. "E.E. Whitsett" (front office) is engraved on the back of the case. This inside face is askew. Light scratching on the crystal, an overall clean watch that runs well.
