Much rarer than their players' counterparts, World Series Umpire rings do not appear very often. This size 11 ½ ring is made of 10K gold and was presented to umpire Eric Gregg after the A's swept the Giants, 4-0, in the 1989 World Series. That World Series was, of course, best remembered for the earthquake that struck during the pre-game of Game Three at Candlestick Park. A round diamond on the top is set in a gold baseball diamond accented by four diamond chips representing the bases. Around this in raised letters is :World Series 1989 Umpire." Each shank has raised banners with engraved team names "Oakland A's" and "San Francisco Giants, set amid a raised baseball player (Giants) and crossed bats with glove and ball (A's). There are two chevrons beneath each team name. Inside is engraved "Eric Gregg, 5-18-51 (birthday), Earthquake." The ring shows light wear on the bottom and grades EXMT-NRMT. It is known that duplicates of this ring have been produced. Comes with an LOA from Eric Gregg.
