1996 marked the return of the fabled New York Yankees franchise to World Series glory, and began a new dynasty in New York history. The Yankees went on to win four of the next five World Series, and they still remain serious contenders today. This 1996 NY Yankees World Championship ring is a prototype and practically identical to the ones that the Yankees were given in 1996. It is widely acknowledged to be one of the most aesthetically beautiful rings in World Series history. It is a size 10 ½, with "NY" in synthetic diamonds on a blue sapphire setting. The sapphire is surrounded by the raised letters "1996 World Champions." On the left shank are the raised letters "Robert" above a raised World Series trophy with raised banners that read "Courage" and "Heart." On the right shank is a raised Yankees logo set between a depiction of the Yankee Stadium facade and a raised engraved banner that reads "Tradition." Some of the black enamel has worn off the shanks, taking nothing away from this absolutely stunning ring.
