A lifetime .330 hitter, Hall of Famer (1964) Heinie Manush found fame with the Senators and Cardinals, having been overshadowed by Ty Cobb while with the Tigers. He won the batting title in 1926, going 6 for 9 in a doubleheader on the last day of the season to overtake Babe Ruth. He had a 33 game hitting streak in 1933, and was the first player to ever be ejected from a World Series game. Manush passed away in 1971. This white Spalding ONL Giles baseball shows very light toning, and has been signed and inscribed by Manush. To the right of the sweet spot is his bold signature, which grades an 8-9, above which he added the date 12-25-1964, making this a perfect Christmas ball! To the left of the sweet spot he has inscribed "To Joyce Kelly, Will see you next year." Also included is the original Spalding box, which shows wear and seam separation. Comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
