Although the inaugural 1962 New York Mets placed poorly in the standings, this group of ex-Dodgers and Giants would become world champions in less than a decade. Manager Casey Stengel was rumored to have said of the team, "Can't anybody here play this game?" This toned ONL Giles baseball was signed by 29 members of the 1962 squad during spring training that year. Many of these players would be gone by next year's opening day, making this an extremely rare baseball. Highlights include Casey Stengel on the sweet spot (HOF), Rogers Hornsby (HOF), Richie Ashburn (HOF), Gil Hodges, Clem Labine, Charlie Neal, Roger Craig, Frank Thomas and many others. The signatures grade an overall 6, all legible, and come with a letter from PSA/DNA. A beautiful and very rare '62 ball with Rogers Hornsby.
