Born in the same year as Elvis Presley, Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax's time in the limelight paralleled the King's. He pitched 12 seasons for the Dodgers from 1955-1966, with his greatest success coming after the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles. He led all pitchers in ERA five consecutive years (a record), with his best mark of 1.73 in his final year 1966. He pitched no-hitters each season from 1962 to 1965, with the last one being a perfect game against the Cubs in 1965. He led the Dodgers to pennants in 1963, 1965 and 1966, winning the NL Cy Young each of those years. In 1965, he also eclipsed Bob Feller's 1946 single season strikeout record, fanning an incredible 382 batters. This ONL Giles "stat" ball has been signed in blue ballpoint on the top panel by Sandy Koufax, who added the inscription "To C.B. - Good Luck & Very Best Wishes." On the side panel is written "Sept. - 25 1965, On this day Koufax broke strike out record of 348 held by Bob Feller." The signature and inscription are clear and grade an 8-9. Comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
