Catching for the Dodgers' beloved "Boys of Summer" teams, Roy "Campy" Campanella was behind the plate for five Brooklyn pennants and the ultimate 1955 World Series victory. During his 1953 MVP season (one of three), Campy batted .312, belted 41 homers (a record for catchers) and had 142 RBIs. Unfortunately a 1958 automobile accident left him permanently disabled with a severely damaged spinal cord. Surviving far beyond all expectations, he was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1969, passing away in 1993. Campy has signed (post-accident) this ONL White baseball in blue ballpoint across the sweet spot. There is some spotting on the ball, including on the sweet spot, but the signature still grades a strong 7. Comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
