Affectionately known as "The Little Colonel" from his days with the Louisville Colonels of the American Association, Pee Wee Reese was named Captain of the Dodgers upon his arrival in Brooklyn and proceeded to lead the team to seven pennants. An eight-time All-Star from 1947-1954 and top leadoff man and clutch hitter, Reese was so loved by the fans of the wildly popular Dodgers that 35,000 fans lit candles and sang "Happy Birthday" to him in the fifth inning of a game at Ebbets Field on his birthday. Reese was immortalized with his induction into the Hall of Fame in 1984. This is his 1958 Uniform Player's Contract with the Brooklyn Dodgers paying him $36,000. Pee Wee signed this contract in Brooklyn, and played that season in Los Angeles. The contract has been signed by him "Harold W. Reese" and by then Dodgers GM "Buzzy" Bavasi. The contract is in fantastic condition with no folds. The signature rates a 9 and comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
