The Boston Braves played at Braves field in Boston from its opening in 1915 until their move to Milwaukee in 1952. It was the first ballpark to seat 40,000 people. On opening day 1946, fans went home with green clothes, as the seats had been painted but had not yet dried. This vintage Braves Field chair was last painted in 1946, but dates earlier. Standing 31" tall, there is heavy wear on the painted wood slats, with the iron frames also showing heavy wear and black paint chipping. "7" is stenciled in white on top of the seat back. A historic chair from an old baseball field, which was used by Boston University's football team through 1997 and is still standing.
