In 1962 Henry Aaron of the Milwaukee Braves was elected to his eighth consecutive All-Star game. In game one, which was played in D.C. stadium, Aaron was a scratch due to an injury. However, being the tough competitor that he was, Aaron decided to play in game two at Wrigley. He would enter in the fourth inning for Mays in center. This would be the last time the All-Star game was played in a two game format. Offered here is a 1962 All-Star game bat with "1962 All Star Game Henry Aaron Washington" stamped on the face of the barrel. This bat shows excellent game-use with bat, hit, and white transfer marks on all sides of the barrel. The lower handle of the bat has been cracked and is missing about 25% of the knob. Because Aaron did not play in the Washington D.C. game, we cannot say this was used in the All-Star game. However, we cannot rule out the possibility that Aaron used it in the Wrigley field All-Star game or later on that season. Manufacturer: Hillerich & Bradsby, Model Number: Pro Model, Labeling Period: 1962, Length: 34-3/4 inches, Weight: 31-2/5 ounces, Wood: Ash, Finish: Standard. The bat comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
