Ashburn enjoyed 15 years in the majors, 12 of them spent as a Philadelphia Philly. If he ever fell into a slump, Ashburn was known to sleep with his bats in order to "get to know them better." In 1958, Ashburn had one of his best seasons. He led the league in batting average, on-base percentage, hits, triples, and walks. This bat is from 1957 to 1959, the Hall of Famer's last three seasons as a member of the Phillies. It shows excellent use with ball, hit, and transfer marks on most of the barrel with several visible depressions. Factory ordering records document the "G7" model as being ordered by the player throughout his career, however, a 33" "G7" model can not be found. It is our opinion, this "G7 Richie Ashburn" bat is one of the team ordered bats. Manufacturer: Hillerich & Bradsby, Model Number: G7, Labeling Period: 1957-59, Length: 33 inches, Weight: 35 ounces, Wood: Ash, Finish: Standard. The bat comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
