This 6-3/4" x 10" letter contains Mrs. Lou Gehrig's response to one of Lou's concerned fans. It was typed and signed on 8/30/1939, the year "Iron Horse" was forced to retire prematurely. In the letter, Mrs. Gehrig describes the intensive treatment that Lou was undergoing at the time and talks about its uncertain success. Her black ink signature rates a near 9. The fan, Roy Brawdy, has written a reply to Lou in pencil on the back. The letter is in excellent condition and Mrs. Gehrig's signature comes with a PSA/DNA letter.
