William "Bill" Dickey was the mainstay Yankees catcher of the 1930s who bridged the Ruth/Gehrig dynasty with the DiMaggio dynasty (coaching under Casey Stengel). A lifetime .313 hitter, this Hall of Famer (1954) and 11-time All-Star was not only Lou Gehrig's roommate but was the only active player that played himself in "Pride of the Yankees." A tremendous slugger in the clutch, Dickey hit a two-run homer with five RBIs in Game Two of the 1936 World Series against the Giants, and in Game One of the 1939 World Series he drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. No one else has caught more World Series games than Dickey (38). In 1937 he hit grand slams in two consecutive games. He hit over .300 in six consecutive seasons. We offer his 1941 Uniform Player's Contract with the Yankees, paying him $20,000, signed in fountain by him, Yankees HOF owner Ed Barrow and then AL President William Harridge. The "W" in "William" shows slight bleeding, the rest of the signature is bold and crisp. Great historical Yankees contract from one of the all-time greats. Dickey passed away in 1993. Comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
