Don Mattingly played his entire 14 year career with the Yankees. "Donnie Baseball" ate, drank, and slept baseball. This man was one of the smartest and most observant players to ever play the game. Having hitting down to a science, he learned more and more about a baseball swing with every at bat. On the front left tail of the jersey is the "Wilson" manufacturer's tag with wash instructions. Attached is a size tag reading "42." Inside the back of the collar is a tag reading "Mattingly 88." On the left breast is the "NY" logo patch. On the back of the jersey is the player number "23" done in navy blue tackle twill. There is an armband removed from the left sleeve. The jersey shows game-use, and except for the removed armband it appears to have no alterations of any kind.
