This classic film is perhaps the greatest movie ever made. An epic tale of love and war set in the South during the American Civil War, it narrates the love between Rhett Butler (Clark Gable) and Scarlett O'Hara (Vivien Leigh). In a riches-to-rags story, privileged Scarlett cannot admit her feelings for Rhett, and finally loses him. Tagged as "The most magnificent picture ever," the film also starred Barbara O'Neil, Ann Rutherford, Hattie McDaniel, Butterfly McQueen and, interestingly enough, George Reeves in one of his first billed appearances. Reeves would go on to achieve great fame in the 1950s as television's "Superman." This vintage original three sheet "Gone With The Wind" movie poster, much rarer than the usual one sheets, measures 41" x 81" and has been linen backed. It shows minor fold wear and is in Very Fine condition. It features a large image of Gable and Leigh, and a white box that reads "Limited Engagement, Full Length, Nothing Cut But The Price." The film won the 1940 Oscar for best picture, and it is known that the Academy didn't officially use the name "Oscar" until 1939, the year of this classic's release.
