The House of David was a community founded by a religious sect in 1903 at Benton Harbor, Michigan, and once had about 1000 members. During the early 20th century, the HOD put together a barnstorming baseball team, part athletic, part vaudeville, which was enormously successful. This House of David jersey is an excellent replication of an original period jersey. It appears to have been made for a movie during the 1950s. Inside the collar of the jersey the "Western Costume Co." has stamped their logo and a number "18." Adjacent to this is a "Rawlings" manufacturer's tag with jersey size "42." On the front is a "Star of David" and the letter "D," on the back is the number "6" and the name "Kessler." All the letters and numbers are done in gold felt.
