In 1943, Bernard Perlin was commissioned by the U.S. Government Office of War Information to paint a patriotic image for the war effort, and this beauty is what he created: "Americans will always fight for liberty." Under the Works Project Administration, Perlin had previously painted murals for the Post Office. This is an original 1943 WWII poster measuring 22" x 28", in VF condition with very minor edge and fold wear, no tears, fantastic for its age! This poster is one of the few which visually associates the fight for Freedom in WWII with the American Revolution, juxtaposing familiar heroes from each conflict. Across the bottom it reads,"OWI Poster No. 26...US Government Printing Office: 1943-O-502684."
