Bill "Moose" Skowron was a six-time All Star (including 1961) for the Yankees at first base. A member of the Yanks from 1954 to 1962, Skowron was in seven Series with the team. His greatest moment may have been in 1958, when his 3-run homer in Game seven of the series gave the Yankees the World Series victory. In 1961, he hit 26 home runs and drove in 91 RBIs, and then in the World Series helped the Yankees with a .353 batting average and a home run. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Spalding" manufacturers tag. Attached to that is an additional manufacturers tag with the jersey size "44" on it. Below that is "61" embroidered in blue thread. On the inside left front tail is an additional manufacturers tag with wash instructions on it. Attached to that is an additional manufacturers tag with "SET 1 1961" on it. On the inside back collar is an additional manufacturers tag with "Skowron" in script embroidered in blue thread on it. On the left breast is the official "Yankees NY" logo in blue felt that has been restored. On the back is the player number "14" in blue felt. The jersey shows good game use with the "Spalding" tag becoming frayed on one side. Aside from the restored "NY" on the front, there appears to be no alterations of any kind.
