One of the big reasons behind the success of the Red Sox in 2004 was DH David Ortiz. Ortiz hit .301 for the season with 41 home runs and 139 RBIs. His offensive punch helped Boston to both the AL Pennant and to their first World Series victory since 1918. On the side, bottom of the tongue and sole at heel of the shoe is the "Reebok" logo. On the back counter at top and bottom and midpoint on the sole is the "Reebok" name. At the junction of the sole and upper at the ball of the foot is the model number "DMX" embossed on the side. On the outside top of the tongue is the official "MLB" embossed logo. On the inside top of the tongue is a manufacturers tag with the shoe size "12" and the "MLB Licensee" mark on it. There is an additional manufacturers imprint (worn and illegible) on the sock lining. There is an autograph rating a strong 8 and "04 Game Used" in black marker on the side of the shoe. The shoe shows good game use with dirt residue on the sole. Accompanied by a Steiner Certificate and by a LOA from Jimmy Spence of PSA/DNA.
