Mark McGwire will not just go down as one of the greatest home run hitters of all time, but as one of the most accomplished athletes in sports history. On Sept. 8, 1998, with the entire nation watching, Mark McGwire hit his 62nd home run of the season to shatter Roger Maris’ single season home run record. McGwire ended the unforgettable 1998 season with a mind-boggling 70 home runs to set the new all-time single season home run record. McGwire finished his 16-year career with 12 All-Star Game selections and an induction to the All-Century team. Mark McGwire has hand signed this authentic Cardinals home jersey and is a special limited numbered edition. On the left tail of the jersey is the "Rawlings" manufacturers tag with wash information on it. Above that in blue marker is the limited edition number information "49/250." On the inside back collar are two additional manufacturers tags with the jersey size "48" on them. Attached to these are two additional manufacturers paper tags. Across the front of the jersey is "Cardinals" in script and the "Cardinals on a bat" team logo embroidered in red, black and yellow. Below that on the left and on the back of the jersey is the player number "25. Across the back is MC GWIRE." All lettering and numbering is done in red on black tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the "Rawlings" embroidered logo. On the back of the collar is the official "MLB" embroidered logo. On the right front of the jersey is an image of McGuire from the waist up, painted in natural colors on vinyl, stitched to the jersey. There is an autograph in blue marker rating a strong 8 adjacent to the painted image. The jersey is in excellent condition. Accompanied by a LOA from Jimmy Spence of PSA/DNA and by a Steiner Certificate.
