Under the direction of Michael Mann, "Ali" was an instant movie classic. Will Smith's performance in "Ali" was one of the most groundbreaking performances of our generation, and some say, one of the best performances ever. Smith depicted the life of Muhammad Ali, world renowned boxer. Ali said "I am the greatest," and he wasn’t wrong. With 56 wins, 37 of them by knockout, and 5 losses over a 21-year career, Muhammad Ali became our nation’s most adored athlete and champion for his prowess in the rink and his loveable arrogance outside. These are Will Smith's boxing shoes from the movie "Ali." On the outside upper of both shoes is a grey, red and blue manufacturers vinyl logo. On the soles of both shoes is the "Cat's Paw" embossed logo. On the inside top of the right shoe is ""13" and "13 ALI - D" in blue pen. On the inside top of the left shoe is "13" on both the left and right side. The shoes show excellent wear with the leather uppers creased with some scuff marks. Also included in this lot is a 16" x 20" autographed photo of Ali knocking down Sonny Liston on May 25, 1965. It has been signed by Ali in blue marker rating a 8. Accompanied by a LOA from Jimmy Spence of PSA/DNA and a Steiner Certificate.
