MICKEY RIVERS debut in the outfield for the Yankees in 1976, and was named to the All Star team that season. Rivers, along with pitcher Ed Figueroa, had come to the Yankees from the California Angels in exchange for Barry Bonds. A sparkplug of a player, Rivers was a great left-handed lead-off hitter who helped New York to three straight AL Pennants and two consecutive World Championships. Rivers was also a "character" whose sayings were reminiscent of the profound statements of Yogi Berra. After 74 games with the Yankees in 1979, Rivers was traded to the Texas Rangers. On the inside right front waistband is the "Wilson" manufacturers tag with wash instructions and the pants size "32" on it. Adjacent to that is an additional manufacturers tag with "Rivers 79 2 22½" in script embroidered in navy blue thread. The pants show good game use with several stains on the left seat and left front thigh of the pants. The pants appear to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a Yankees Steiner letter
