Beginning his career as a starter, DAVE RIGHETTI'S early highlight was a no-hit victory over the Red Sox in 1982. He soon moved to the Yankees bullpen, and recorded 224 of his 252 career saves in pinstripes. The 1981 AL Rookie of the Year, Righetti was named an All Star in 1986 and 1987. His best season in relief was in 1986, when he recorded a fantastic 46 saves with a 2.45 ERA. 1990 was his last year with the Yankees, and he proved he could still throw, recording 36 saves during that season. Righetti played with the Giants and several other teams before retiring after the 1995 season. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Wilson" manufacturers tag with wash instructions on it. Attached to that are two additional manufacturers tags with the jersey size "46" and "TAPERED" on them. On the inside back collar is an additional manufacturers tag with "Righetti 90 2" in script embroidered in navy blue thread. Across the front of the jersey is "NEW YORK." On the back of the jersey is the player number "19." All lettering and numbering is done in navy blue on white tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the number "1" patch in blue tackle twill, in memory of the late Billy Martin who died the previous December. The jersey shows good game use with two loose threads on the back numbers. The jersey appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a Yankees Steiner letter.
