Who can forget the dramatic moment when BUCKY DENT became the hero of the Yankees? In a special playoff game against the rival Boston Red Sox, Dent hit a homer to give New York the win and the 1978 AL Pennant. Dent continued his fantastic play and was named the MVP in the Yankees World Series victory that season. A solid shortstop, Dent played for the Yankees for six seasons, being named to the All Star team in three of those years. After he retired as a player, Dent returned to manage the Yankees from August 1989 through August 1990. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Wilson" manufacturers tag with wash instructions on it. Attached to that is an additional manufacturers tag with the jersey size "42" on it. On the inside back collar is an additional manufacturers tag with "Dent 90 2" in script embroidered in navy blue thread. Across the front of the jersey is "NEW YORK." On the back of the jersey is the player number "20." All lettering and numbering is done in navy blue on white tackle twill. The jersey shows good wear and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a Yankees Steiner letter.
