WADE BOGGS was a base hit machine, recording seven consecutive seasons with 200 or more hits, and five AL batting titles. Boggs, who played with the Yanks, Red Sox and Tampa Bay from 1982 to 1999, also led the league in on base percentage six times. A twelve-time All Star, Boggs won his only World Series ring with the Yankees in 1996. The third baseman's only two Gold Glove Awards also came with New York, in 1994 and 1995. In 1993 with the Yanks, Boggs hit .302 for the season and was also named to the All Star team. In 1999, his final year, as a member of the Devil Rays Boggs joined the elite 3000 hit club. He was elected to the Baseball HoF in 2005. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Russell" manufacturers tag with wash instructions and the jersey size "44" on it. Below that is an additional manufacturers tag with "1993" on it. Attached to the "Russell" tag are two additional manufacturers tags with "100% POLYESTER" and "2" EXTRA BODY LENGTH" on them. Across the front of the jersey is "NEW YORK." On the back of the jersey is the player number "12". All lettering and numbering is done in navy blue on white tackle twill. The jersey shows good game use with some loose threads on the lettering and numbering. The jersey appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a Yankees Steiner letter.
