1996 was DEREK JETER'S first full season and was a breakout year for him, with the season beginning with an opening day home run. Jeter hit .314 for the season, with 10 home runs and 78 RBIs. He led the Yanks to a World Series victory and was named AL Rookie of the Year. He quickly became the leader of the team, helping New York to three more World Championships. Jeter was named to the All Star team six times, was awarded the 2000 World Series MVP, and earned four Gold Gloves at shortstop. In 2003, he was named team captain of the Yankees in the summer, and in the fall set the major league record for postseason hits. In his ten-year career with the Yankees, Jeter has compiled a lifetime batting average of .315 with 150 home runs and 693 RBIs. On the inside center back of the waistband is the "Russell" manufacturers tag with wash instructions and the pants size "35" on it. Attached to that is an additional manufacturers tag with "100% POLYESTER" on it. To the left of the "Russell" tag is an additional manufacturers tag with "JETER 35-33-96" on it. The pants show excellent game use with major team repairs to the front right knee (re-stitched over a large area). Aside from the team repair, the pants appear to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a Yankees-Steiner LOA.
