Every boy who has ever pitched a baseball has dreamed of performing his art on the ultimate world stage - the pitcher's mound at Yankee Stadium. The small dirt hill has witnessed some of the greatest pitching exhibitions of all-time, including seven no-hitters and three perfect games. The most famous of these, of course, took place on October 8, 1956, Game 5 of the 1956 World Series against the Dodgers, when Don Larsen pitched the first perfect game in Yankee Stadium history. This Schutt "Pitcher's Plate 4-Way" model pitching rubber was on the Yankee Stadium mound for three games on September 29 and 30, 2004. In the September 29th double header vs. the Twins, Mariano Rivera, the greatest relief pitcher of all-time, closed out both games for his 52nd and 53rd saves of the season. The white rubber measures approximately 24" long x 6" wide x 6" tall and has a large cylinder bored out of the center, running end to end. There is a stamped MLB logo on one side, and around the hole is molded "Hollywood Base Professional Pitching Rubber MLBP BBPB" with the Schutt logo. The rubber shows incredible use, abrasions and soiling and cleat scrapes. Accompanied by a Yankees-Steiner Collectibles LOA.
