Rod Carew used a variety of stances to record 3,053 hits in his 19-year career with the Twins and Angels. Carew hit .300 or better in 15 consecutive seasons, winning seven AL batting titles. The 1967 AL Rookie of the Year retired with a .328 lifetime batting average. In 1974 Carew led the league in hits, batting average and on-base percentage. A 19-time All Star and AL MVP in 1977, Carew was elected to the Baseball HoF in 1991. On the inside back collar of the jersey is the "Wilson" manufacturers tag (reinforced) with wash instructions and the jersey size "40" on it. On the left front tail of the jersey is an additional manufacturers tag with "74" on it. Across the front of the jersey is "Twins" in script. Below that on the left and on the back is the player number "29." All lettering and numbering is done in red on blue tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the official "Minnesota Twins" embroidered logo patch. The jersey shows game use and, with exception to the reinforced manufacturers tag, appears to have no alterations of any kind.
