Mickey Lolich was the left-hander the Detroit Tigers depended upon in the 1960s. In his 16-year career, he won 217 games, and recorded 2,832 strike outs, second only to Steve Carlton for left-handed pitchers. Lolich's greatest year was in 1968, when he led the Tigers to the World Series Championship. In the Series, Lolich won all three of the games he started, hit his only major league home run in Game 2, and was named MVP of the Series. On the inside back collar of the jersey is the "MacGregor" manufacturers tag with the jersey size "44" on it. Across the front of the jersey is "DETROIT." On the back of the jersey and on the right sleeve is the player number "29." All lettering and numbering is done in navy blue felt. The jersey shows good game use; the manufacturers tag is fraying, and there are several small brown stains on the lower left front and upper left back. The jersey appears to have no alterations of any kind.
